Electro Rent's 2Q profit jumps 77 percent

(AP:VAN NUYS, Calif.) Shares of Electro Rent Corp. jumped Monday after the leaser of electronic test equipment said its fiscal second-quarter earnings shot up 77 percent as revenue increased on higher rental demand and pricing in North America and Europe.
