British producer Martin Rushent worked with a wide range of musical acts, from Dame Shirley Bassey to Joy Division, making his mark in the late '70s with guitar-led punk bands the Stranglers and the Buzzcocks and the crystalline computer-driven production showcased on the Human League's 1981 synth-pop album Dare.
