William Orbit's new EP 'Purdy' features several top-class remixes of the lush, layered original. The track is taken from William's new album 'My Oracle Lives Uptown', which met with considerable acclaim earlier in 2009.

William Orbit has been in high demand as a producer and remixer for well over a decade.

Although ‘My Oracle Lives Uptown’ is probably William Orbit’s most immediate album, it’s so subtly layered that it only reveals itself fully after a number of plays. And like his other solo albums, it will surely be resistant to the ageing process. His vision is idiosyncratic and original enough to not to have to try to play catch-up with anyone else, which gives his music a curiously timeless feel.

Remix Notes

Chicane – a legend of dance music, whose most recent foray into the charts was with ‘Poppiholla’, a reworking of the Sigur Ros hit.

Greenmoney – the self-styled ‘pair of jokers from west London’ have recently got their grubby mitts on Kanye, Kid Cudi and Amp Fiddler.

Henner & Green – described as ‘psychedelic progressive’, these guys have also notably remixed ‘Home and Dry’ by the Pet Shop Boys.

Billy Buttons – Craspedia is a genus of daisies commonly known as billy buttons or woollyheads. They are native to Australia and New Zealand where they grow in a variety of habitats from sea level to the alps.
