At the end of 2007 the Horrors announced the forthcoming recording of a new album. This is expected to be released on the 4th of May 2009; the album will be produced by Geoff Barrow, of Portishead. Recording took place in Bath during the summer of 2008. The band were forced to pull out of their planned appearance at the Underage Festival due to recording schedule conflicts. The new album and its associated singles are due to be released by XL Recordings, after The Horrors moved from Loog in March 2007.The new material in 2009 has been a cover of Suicide's "Shadazz", released by Blast First Petite as part of their tribute to Alan Vega in October 2008. On March 17th the first video, for Sea Within A Sea, was released on their website. In a preview article, music journalist Mike Diver commented that the album was "set to be one of the year's best" and that it was "wholly worth all the hype that’s attracted to its unexpected brilliance"

Primary Colours is the second album by The Horrors. It has an expected release date of the 4th of May 2009
