In 2007, Jason Schwartzman created the pop/rock solo act Coconut Records. Songs include “West Coast,” “Nighttiming,” and “This Old Machine.” The album had many musical contributions by members of Incubus and Rooney, as well as appearances by Kirsten Dunst and Zooey Deschanel.

Recently, Dentyne Ice came up with a commercial titled “face time” where a few seconds of the song, “Summer Day” is played from his Nighttiming record.

Schwartzman is best known for his roles in the films Rushmore, The Darjeeling Limited, and I Heart Huckabees. He was the drummer for the band Phantom Planet (best known for their hit single “California,” the theme song for The OC). Despite leaving the band for an acting career, he still composes music for some films. He also contributed to Ben Lee’s 2005 album “Awake is the New Sleep”.

On Jan. 13th, Coconut Records’ new album entitled Davy comes out.

This is really great album. Little bit beatles, little bit kinks and lots of sixties. Thank you very much.
